We’re delighted to welcome Simon Mayhew to The Finest Directory, our handpicked network of creatives whose work captures the feeling of home in all its rich and varied forms.
Simon Mayhew is the founder and creative director of TXTURED, a luxury interior design studio based between Manchester and London. TXTURED is known for crafting elegant, character-rich spaces for residential and boutique commercial clients across the UK and internationally.
Originally treading the west end stage for 10 years as a dancer and singer, Simon’s move into interior design came from a desire to create places that feel meaningful, personal, and lived-in. That sense of emotional connection underpins everything TXTURED does. “We talk a lot about storytelling,” he explains. “Every project begins with a conversation; who you are, what matters to you, and how your home can reflect that.”
With a focus on materials, layered palettes, and a considered use of texture (naturally), Simon’s approach is rooted in that quiet luxury aesthetic that everybody longs for; homes that feel intentional, grounded, and beautifully lived-in. TXTURED’s signature lies in its ability to balance minimal with richness: soft but strong, calm but full of character. A true lesson in design.
Now splitting his time between projects across the country, Simon continues to build TXTURED as a studio that champions individuality. Recent projects include Georgian renovations, new-build family homes, and creative commercial spaces developing concepts for brands like GAILS ensuring the unique brand identity is not compromised but still injecting life in to every corner of the design.
At its heart, TXTURED is about people, not just spaces. “Design should feel like home, not like a showroom,” says Simon. “It should tell your story, not ours.”
We asked Simon what “home” means to him:
“When you said the word home, the first word I thought of was safe. Your home is your safe space. A space to create memories, a safe space to love, a space to laugh. It should feel warm and it should connect to you. Home is exactly what you make it.”
