Luxury kitchen design needs clarity, texture, and flow.

At TXTURED we build kitchens across Cheshire and Manchester that work hard and feel calm. Our approach is simple. Strong layouts. Honest materials. Measured lighting. Detail at every edge.

This year we are specifying natural timber with an open grain. Walnut brings depth. Oak brings light. We pair timber with stone that has movement. Travertine. Quartzite. Soapstone. We keep surfaces honed for a soft read and better wear. Metals play a supporting role. Stainless for function. Aged brass for warmth. We use fluted details to add rhythm without noise. Curves on islands and end panels soften the room and improve the walk routes. It feels considered rather than loud.

A kitchen lives or dies by its layout. We plan for clear circulation first. Aim for 1000 to 1200 mm between runs. Leave around 1300 mm behind island seating for a clean pass. An island works best from 900 by 1800 mm and grows from there. We group tall units to reduce visual noise and keep preparation areas open. The old triangle model served its time. Today we design in zones. Prep. Cook. Clean. Serve. When everything has a zone you move less and enjoy the space more.

Surfaces need to look good on day one and year five. Honed quartzite and high quality porcelain handle heavy use. Soapstone develops a patina that suits relaxed family homes. Full height stone splashbacks make cleaning simple. Tiled splashbacks in a neat stacked bond give order and texture at a lower cost. Flooring sets the mood. Tumbled limestone brings character and works with underfloor heating. Wide oak boards in a natural hardwax finish add warmth and can be spot repaired. We keep sheen low across the room. It hides wear and photographs well.

Storage saves minutes every day. We like full height larders with internal drawers so nothing gets lost at the back. Slim pull outs near the hob keep spices and oils to hand. Charging drawers remove clutter from the worktop. Tray slots near ovens stop heavy boards from leaning on the floor. An appliance garage with bifold doors hides coffee and breakfast kit yet stays practical on a stone work surface. Integrated handles suit calm schemes, but we do not force handle-less fronts where grip matters. Form follows use.

Light shapes everything.

We place downlights only where they help. Over aisles. Over sinks. Not in a grid. Linear LED under wall units throws even light across the worktop. Pendants sit over the island at roughly 700 to 800 mm above the surface. They give presence without glare. A soft LED wash at plinth level turns the kitchen into a night space without waking the house. Warm white lamps across the board keep tone consistent.

Colour works best when it sits close. One timber tone. One painted tone. Walls close to cabinet colour. Stone with movement pairs with flatter door fronts for balance. If we use wallpaper we place it away from the hob and sink. In terms of palette, we are seeing earthy families hold strong in Cheshire homes. Mocha Mousse tones. Olive. Deep taupe. Clay. These shades bring depth in winter light and feel grounded in summer.

Our process keeps stress low. We start with a clear brief and a measured survey. We design layout options with precise dimensions and walk routes. We produce a material board with timber, stone, metal, and colour so you can see and touch the scheme. We draw every unit and junction. We issue lighting and electrical plans that match how you will use the room morning to night. We manage procurement and coordinate with your contractor. We oversee installation and finish with styling. One studio handles the whole path so the result feels resolved.

We work across Cheshire and the North West. Alderley Edge. Hale. Bowdon. Knutsford. Wilmslow. Manchester. We also take select projects in London. Clients choose TXTURED because the kitchens feel warm and modern without noise. The palettes stay calm. The textures feel honest. The details are handled. Plinths line through. Scribers meet the wall cleanly. Shadow gaps run straight.

If you plan a new build or a renovation in Cheshire or Manchester, share your plans and a few photos. We will book a consultation. We will talk about layouts, materials, budget, and programme. For a smooth start we like to see recent survey drawings or architect plans in PDF and DWG. We also check service positions for gas, water, waste, and electrics. We agree vent routes for extraction and note natural light and privacy. We confirm any appliances you will keep. Then we set a clear timeline.

Here is how a TXTURED Cheshire family kitchen often reads. Walnut pairs with a painted cabinet in a muted tone. Worktops and splashback in honed Taj Mahal quartzite. An induction hob with integrated extraction on the island. A steam and combi oven in a 900 mm stack. A tall larder with internal drawers and a pocket door breakfast station. Tumbled limestone on the floor with underfloor heating. A warm white LED scheme with full dimming control. It feels calm. It performs. It ages well.
